Coach Teddy’s resume
Teddy Dupay starred at Mariner High School from 1994 to 1998, setting a state record with 3,744 career points that remains unbeaten to this day. He led Mariner to a Lee County Athletic Conference championship as a freshman and, as a sophomore, averaged 25.3 points per game while earning Second-Team All-State honors and guiding his team to a 32–2 record and a berth in the FHSAA State Championship game. As a junior, he was named First-Team All-State in Class 5A after averaging 28.9 points per game. He capped his career with a historic senior season, leading the nation in scoring to earn Florida’s “Mr. Basketball” honor. He recorded four 50-point games, including a 70-point performance in a state playoff game, and set the City of Palms Tournament record with 56 points in a single game. He earned McDonald’s All-American honors in 1998, winning the three-point shooting contest, and finished his prep career holding five national scoring records.
At the University of Florida (1998–2001), Dupay was a standout guard who finished third in program history with 188 career three-pointers, including three streaks of at least 15 consecutive games with a made three-pointer. Under Coach Billy Donovan, he helped lead the Gators to the 2000 Final Four and National Championship game, as well as SEC Championships in 1999–2000 and 2000–2001. He earned Associated Press All-American honors and was a two-time AP All-SEC selection.

What is Teddy Dupay Basketball Academy?
TDBA is a youth basketball academy in downtown Tampa, run by Teddy Dupay — Florida’s all-time leading high-school scorer and a University of Florida point guard. We train boys and girls of every age and every skill level, 52 weeks a year, at the Activities Building, 2nd Level on West Kennedy Boulevard.
Who actually coaches my kid?
TDBA has no volunteer coaches. Every session and every game is run by TDBA pro staff — the coaches on this page — so it is the same people and the same message every week.
What does TDBA believe in?
Our mission is to help kids. Our goal is to get better. We listen with our eyes, we treat each other the way we want to be treated, we control what we can control and turn anything negative into a positive. Fun is #1.
Where does TDBA train?
The Activities Building, 2nd Level, 302 W. Kennedy Blvd in downtown Tampa. Classes run Thursday, Friday and Saturday year-round, the 5-on-5 league runs Friday nights and the 3-on-3 league runs Saturdays, and camps run weekday mornings in the summer.
