Frequently asked questions

What types of leagues does TDBA offer?

TDBA offers several league formats to cater to different ages and skill levels, including the 5on5 Youth Basketball League and the 3on3 Full Court Developmental League. These leagues are designed to maximize player development and enjoyment.

How do I sign my kid up for a TDBA league?

Right here on this page — pick the league, tap Sign up, and pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a card. It takes about a minute, and there is no account to create. You give us the player's name and age at checkout, and signing up for more than one kid is a quantity on the same checkout. Today the 3-on-3 is $124.95 per player and the 5-on-5 is $120 per player.

What is the schedule for TDBA leagues?

The 5on5 Leagues are held on Fridays, and the 3on3 Leagues always take place on Saturdays. These schedules are designed to provide players with consistent weekly competition and development opportunities.

Are there age restrictions for joining a TDBA league?

The Saturday 3-on-3 developmental league takes boys and girls from age 4 on up through high school, in four age and skill divisions. The Friday-night 5-on-5 league is for ages 7 to 16. All skill levels are welcome in both — players are matched so the competition is fair.

How does TDBA ensure fair play and development in its leagues?

All games in TDBA leagues are coached and refereed by professional TDBA staff, ensuring a high standard of fair play and sportsmanship. Our unique league formats, including full-court 3on3 games, are designed to enhance player development, understanding of the game, and enjoyment.

Can I volunteer as a coach in TDBA leagues?

TDBA leagues are distinguished by their lack of volunteer coaches; all games are coached and refereed by professional TDBA staff. This approach ensures consistent, high-quality coaching and officiating across all our leagues.

What makes TDBA leagues different from other youth basketball leagues?

TDBA leagues focus on player development, understanding of the game, and enjoyment in a professional and supportive environment. Our full-court 3on3 league format is particularly unique, offering players a chance to develop their skills in a game setting that emphasizes space, movement, and decision-making. Additionally, we include a bonus week for playoffs to add an exciting conclusion to the season.
