Frequently asked questions

What types of summer camps does TDBA offer?

TDBA runs 9 camps in 2027: Thanksgiving Break 1-Day Camp, NO SCHOOL DAY 1-Day Camp, NO SCHOOL DAY 1-Day Camp, Spring Break Camp, Homeschool Summer Basketball Camp, Summer Camp "TIP-OFF", TIP-OFF Summer Camp #2, 12th Annual All-Girls Summer Camp, Shooting Camp (Ages 8–16). They are built for different ages, skill levels and interests — the TIP-OFF camps and the All-Girls camp are all-ages, and the Shooting Camp is for ages 8 to 16.

How can I register my child for a TDBA summer camp?

Right here on this page — pick the camp, tap Sign up, and pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay, or a card. It takes about a minute, and there is no account to create. You give us the camper's name and birthday at checkout. Signing up a second camper? Do a second checkout so we get both names — the form only takes one camper (the Homeschool camp is the exception: its free second camper has its own box). Camps start at $77.

What should my child bring to camp?

Participants should bring a water bottle (with a secure lid and labeled with their name), snacks or a bag lunch (as there is no lunch break), and an extra pair of socks. All campers are provided with basketballs and other necessary equipment, so there is no need to bring a basketball.

Are TDBA summer camps suitable for beginners?

Yes, TDBA welcomes players of all skill levels, including beginners. Our camps are designed to foster skill development, understanding of the game, and a love for basketball in a supportive and fun environment.

What makes TDBA summer camps unique?

TDBA summer camps stand out for their emphasis on both skill development and personal growth. Camp activities include 'Tie Dye Tuesday' for creative expression and the use of sticker boards for positive reinforcement. Additionally, our camps are led by experienced coaches who are dedicated to teaching basketball and life skills.

How does TDBA handle safety and hydration during summer camps?

Safety and hydration are top priorities at all TDBA camps. We ensure that all participants have frequent water breaks to stay hydrated and that all activities are conducted in a safe, supervised environment. Additionally, our coaches are trained to prioritize the well-being of each camper.

Can parents attend or observe the camps?

While we encourage parental support, the structure of our camps and the consideration for all campers' experiences mean that observation opportunities for parents may be limited to specific times or events, such as the final day's camp picture. We strive to create an environment where campers can fully engage and focus on their development.
